Travel Trends for 2027: The New Way of Enjoying the Costa Blanca

The world of travel is constantly changing. Looking ahead to 2027, based on recent large-scale research among nearly 15,000 travelers, we see a clear shift in what we value during our vacations. The emphasis is less on 'having to do' and much more on 'just being'.

Currently, the weather here in Orihuela Costa is wonderfully summery, around 26°C with lightly cloudy skies — the perfect climate to relax, make plans, and enjoy. Let's dive into the key travel trends for 2027 and see how our luxury penthouses, such as Vero Amanecer in Villamartín, fit into this lifestyle seamlessly.

1. More Frequent, Shorter Trips: The Rise of 'Micro-Travel'
The days of taking just one long summer vacation per year are behind us. In 2027, travelers are overwhelmingly choosing micro-travel: multiple short breaks spread throughout the year. Due to busy work schedules and a desire for spontaneous rest, we are booking long weekends or midweeks more often.

Mister Stay is the ideal base for such a quick escape. Located close to both Alicante and Murcia airports, you can be in your own luxury oasis in no time. Recharging under the Spanish sun for just a few days does wonders for your productivity and well-being.

2. Less Rigid Planning: The 'Ish' Principle
The pressure of planning the 'perfect vacation' with a highly detailed itinerary is fading. In 2027, we travel 'ish'. We book our flights and accommodation, but we decide the rest on the spot. No more stressful to-do lists; instead, we wake up and see where the day takes us.

At Mister Stay, we embrace this relaxed approach. Start your morning slowly on your spacious private balcony with a fresh Nespresso coffee, watch the light clouds drift by, and only then decide whether to hit the beach at La Zenia, play a round of golf in Villamartín, or simply lounge by the pool.

3. The 'Skillcation': Growing While Traveling
Travelers no longer want to just rest; they want to return home enriched. The so-called 'skillcation' or growth getaway is a major trend in 2027. Whether it's learning Spanish, taking a local cooking class, or perfecting your swing on the nearby championship golf courses of Villamartín, we want to grow during our travels.

Our fully-equipped kitchens in the penthouses are perfect for experimenting with local Mediterranean ingredients. Buy fresh fish and olive oil at the local market and try making an authentic paella!

4. Nature, Peace, and the Outdoors
A staggering 79% of travelers state that in 2027 they want to spend more time in nature than they do at home to truly unwind. Orihuela Costa offers the best of both worlds. While we are not directly on the beachfront, you are just minutes away from beautiful sandy beaches, dramatic cliff paths, and the soothing salt lakes of Torrevieja.

5. Humans Over AI: Authentic Hospitality
While artificial intelligence (AI) is handy for comparing flight prices, the 2027 traveler craves genuine human connection. Indeed, 87% prefer advice from family and 70% rely on the local knowledge of hotel and hosting staff.

At Mister Stay, we firmly believe in this personal touch. As your local hosts, we love sharing our favorite hidden gems, the best tapas bars where the locals go, and the most scenic walking routes.
